IN PATIENT MEDICAL SERVICES
Medical ward admits both male and female patients above 14 years with various illnesses. It has a bed capacity of 43 patients and an average bed capacity of 84%. Among the 43 beds, there are 3 beds in isolated rooms where patients with acute communicable diseases are nursed.
The following services are offered: –
A. PREVENTIVE HEALTH EDUCATION.
Health education is done to individual patients after admission by the medical personnel including the nutritionist, nurses, student nurses and the counselor.
i. Healthy Diet.
ii. Environment Hazards.
iii. First Aid.
iv. HIV prevention and management for those reactive.
v. Drugs adherence and follow up care.
i. Treatment is given to the patient as prescribed.
ii. Prompt diagnosis through quick laboratory and x-ray services.
iii. Through physical examination by the medical officers and physician.
iv. Proper documentation for all services rendered to the patients.
C. SERVICES OFFERED
i. OGD (endoscopy).
ii. X-ray services.
iii. CT scan.
iv. Ultra Sound scan
v. PITC – (Provider initiated testing and counseling)
D. NURSING CARE.
i. Turning patients as prescribed.
ii. Assisted bed baths and feeding.
iv. Pressure area care.
E. CONTINUOUS MEDICAL EDUCATION.
i. Weekly departmental medical education done to the medical personnel including the student’s nurses especially on the new updates and common conditions in the department.
